Privacy Policy

The short version: WisperTalk is a keyboard that turns your speech into text. When you dictate, your audio is sent directly to the Whisper transcription API to be converted to text and is not stored on our servers. We don't sell your data, and we don't track you.

Who we are

WisperTalk ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by Advanced Marketing. You can reach us at ben@advancedmarketing.co.

What the app does

WisperTalk provides a custom iOS keyboard and a companion app. When you tap the microphone and speak, the app records short audio, sends it to a third-party speech-to-text service (the Whisper API, provided by Groq by default), and inserts the returned text where you're typing.

Information we process

Voice recordings

Audio you record for dictation is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection to the transcription API solely to generate a text transcription. The audio is processed transiently to return your text and is not retained by WisperTalk. We do not keep copies of your recordings or transcriptions on any server we control.

Transcribed text

The resulting text is inserted directly into the app you're using. WisperTalk does not log, collect, or transmit your transcribed text to us.

Your API key

WisperTalk uses an API key to access the transcription service. This key is stored only on your device (in the app's secure app-group storage) and is used only to authenticate your transcription requests. It is never sent to us.

Subscription & purchase data

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Apple may share limited, anonymized purchase and subscription-status information with us to operate the subscription. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across apps.
We do not log your keystrokes. "Allow Full Access" is used only to send audio for transcription and to enable network requests from the keyboard.

Third-party service

Transcription is performed by a third-party provider (Groq, running OpenAI-compatible Whisper models). Audio sent for transcription is subject to that provider's privacy and data-handling terms. Please review Groq's Privacy Policy.

Data security

All transcription requests are made over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Your API key and settings are stored locally on your device.

Children's privacy

WisperTalk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we don't maintain a server-side database of your recordings, transcriptions, or account, there is no personal data held by us to export or delete. You can remove all locally stored data by deleting the app. For any privacy question, contact us at ben@advancedmarketing.co.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
